Stay safe, stay connected
Stay safe, stay connected (2021) is a lightweight interaction zone created for Wikimedians in India. This effort is to ensure community solidarity where Wikimedians can meet and talk to each other. Around April 2021, India faced second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people and Wikimedians have been affected or have suffered a loss. While we were talking to some of the Wikimedians in India personally, we noticed that we are actually looking for a space to talk to each other. The lockdowns, and lack of personal meet and greet have made the pandemic even more difficult. This space can be used to meet and talk to other Wikimedians.
Note: This effort should not be mistaken or confused with the counselling session offered by CIS-A2K. The counselling sessions will be lead by an expert for more details please refer COVID-19 support for Wikimedians/India.
Procedure
edit- This is mostly an India-specific event. Most of the participants are expected to be from India. However anyone is welcome to join, specially if you want to ask "How are you, India?"
- We'll start with scheduling Stay safe, stay connected on specific dates and India-friendly time. Attending or not attending is completely optional.
- We expect to conduct two sessions every month. The number may increase/decrease if needed.
- We will try to have Indian-language interpreters during the meets.
- This won't be all-in-all Wiki-discussion/training. There may or not be Wiki-topics in the sessions,
- This platform should not be used to present crucial Wiki-topics, consultation or feedback collection. Please arrange a separate call/meet if needed.
- There will be a moderator in each session.
Participation guidelines
edit- All the participants are requested to follow Friendly space policies.
- Be kind and polite to each other.
- Do not interrupt others, and let other people speak.
- There will be a moderator in each session, who will moderate the discussion.
- Please avoid debates, and critical questions. Debates and critical questions are fine, but this particular platform is not meant for that. Keep the discussion lightweight.
