Variables to deal with
editPersonal
edit- Name, country
- Male/female - mandatory for people who want to sleep in the Haus der Jugend
- Do you want to help volunteer? if yes: for how many days?
- Include extraction possibility for name tag editing and the following should be asked
- User name to be printed on tag (can be nick or irc nick or first name, or both. Max string of characters)
- Wikipedia/Wikimedia project of origin
Payment itself
editConference fees
edit- Foundation member? (if set up)
- Payment per PayPal or bank transfer to Wikimedia Deutschland (keyword: Wikimania), if payment doesn't arrive within a certain period of time the registration will be void and the place free again.
- What about the Dutch bank?
Rooms
edit- 300 beds in three categories, leaving out the singles (double, quad, from 8-/12-bed) for four nights: 4th to 7th August.
- 300 x breakfast and dinner or lunch
- Separate groups for meals? (the people from the Haus der Jugend want us to form several smaller groups for the meals because not all people fit at once in the eating room)
- Allow registration with or without accomodation (conference fees?), meals probably automatically included in the accomodation.
Network planning
edit- Will you bring a laptop with you?
- if so, do you have wireless networking capability? 802.11b or g?
- MAC address and prefered hostname (optional)
Multilingualism
editI wonder if the registration website will be multilingual and if so which languages we would provide. There are already many translation requests for the banner. But I doubt that it would make sense to provide banners in languages we don't have translations of the registration website for. Does it makes sense at all to translate the Wikimania website (and the banner) in many languages? People who don't understand English (or at least German, French and perhaps Spanish) probably won't have much fun at Wikimania. -- Arne (akl) 10:22, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
