The Yoruba Wikimedians User Group is organizing a Translation a-thon on the International Day for Remembrance of Slave Trade and Its Abolition on 23rd – 25th August, 2023 where we look forward to "Write / Translate or Improve" existing article about slave trade and its abolition in the world on the Yoruba Wikipedia.

Prizes edit

Yoruba Wikimedians User Group have kindly approved a 50,000 for prizes worth of gifts the 1st – 3rd winners, while other top 10 contributors would get data reimbursement. To be eligible for prizes in any of the categories, you must created new or improved at least 10 existing articles on Yoruba Wikipedia during this time.

  • 20,000 – gift in kind 1st prize
  • 15,000 – gift in kind 2nd prize
  • 10,000 – gift in kind 3rd prize
  • Data reimbursement for others

Goals edit

  • We aim to create at least 100 articles during this exercise.
  • To create or translate new articles related to slave abolition on Yoruba Wikipedia
  • To improve existing article on Yoruba Wikipedia.
