On MediaWiki projects, users can sign their comments by typing ~~~~. By default, this becomes something like Example (talk) 08:56, 2 July 2010 (UTC). It is also possible to just get the username and talk link (~~~) or the timestamp (~~~~~). These signatures are sometimes called sigs.
