"showing that a scientific award can be debated and awarded on a wiki"

edit

Note that recipients of awards like the ACL Lifetime Achievement Award are already debated and chosen on a wiki. However, the Wiki used for this is closed to the general public. Gdm3000 (talk) 20:42, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

very interesting indeed! Thanks --Rémi Bachelet (talk) 04:43, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

"...most influential research paper on Wikimedia projects and free knowledge projects in general."

Do non-Wikimedia papers have a chance, if they "only" relate to wikis in general? The paper submissions show a (not surprising ;-) ) bias towards Wikimedia... -- Warfair (talk) 08:35, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

They do! As do "non-wiki open knowledge" --Rémi Bachelet (talk) 09:14, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Awesome. Thanks for this info. :) -- Warfair (talk) 14:13, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Congratulations to all nominated papers! I like the selection too. Just one remark: All five papers are directly related to Wikipedia. Maybe its just pure coincidence but there is a strong bias towards Wikipedia. Though its ok because we are in a Wikipedia context, maybe next time you should directly only Wikipedia related papers. Anyway, again congrats for the nice selection. --Warfair (talk) 10:25, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Actually, this looks quite challenging, as christmas is approaching... anyway, all the best and good luck. It is interesting to see, which papers are important to the Jury. :) -- Warfair (talk) 22:43, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
