Legibility

edit

Trivial comment: [1] would benefit from more "contrast" between the colours: data points are very similar, I can spot the horizontal line in February 2002 and January 2003 but little else. [2] is way easier to read on the left side, though "longevity" can be ambiguous. --Nemo 21:56, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey Nemo, could you try using the selector & narrow you selection say 1% - 100% etc. That should give you much better results for the time being till i'm able to fix the contrasts. What can I call it other than "longevity" ? I have data for 'it' would you be interested? What other wiki's would you be interested in? --Jeph paul (talk) 07:58, 15 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Good questions!

... but hard to answer, Jeph paul :-) See also de:Benutzer:Atlasowa/editor_motivation#Benutzerstatistik.2C_Neue_und_Alterskohorten, especially strategy:Editor_Trends_Study/Results. I'm curious for the dewiki stats :-) I didn't find a filter or selector on cosmiclattes.github.io. Interesting stuff! --Atlasowa (talk) 15:56, 16 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The rectangle block on top of the graph is the selector, on going to the left end of the selector u'll get a resize cursor, you can then redraw/resize/move the selection. I've added the data for de.

Editor Activity Graph - Filter
The single largest contribution of edit activity from a editor cohort comes from the the people who joined in a given month in all the large wiki's I've looked at en, de, es, etc (editors are split into cohorts based on their month of first edit). But when comparing de to en the % contribution of edit sessions from people who newly join in a month to all the edit sessions in the month is lesser. => The older editors are more in de are more active than their peers in en ( in % terms), any related studies?. Graphs Monthly Editor Activity Split By Cohort - Stacked Bars & Monthly Editor Activity % Split By Cohort - Stacked Bars.--Jeph paul (talk) 05:48, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

To Do

edit
  • Add end grips to the selectors/filters.
  • Add labels for the data points in the graph.
  • Label the axes
  • Add detailed explanation for each graph.
