Session length edit

On the session length peak a few years ago: I was wondering (but I couldn't find out) when the preview feature was introduced: with preview, editors are pushed to preview their edits instead of saving them frequently; this makes it harder to identify session length, because one edit might be the result of hours of work which without preview (or with another person) would be split in dozens of edits. Another change which may affect such measures is the section editing, which often brings people to split an edit in multiple revisions. --Nemo 07:08, 29 October 2013 (UTC) IReply

MediaWiki timeline says that section editing was enabled in July 2003. It doesn't say anything about Preview, but I'll ask around. Either way, these are both good points. Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 20:29, 29 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
