Arguments in favour
edit- The it.wikiversity project is now hosted on it.wikibooks (precisely here) and we want to separate the two projects because they're different. Here is a list of interested contributors. --Pietrodn · talk with me 16:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think that it's time to open the italian wikiversity project. There is a good number of users who wants to start this project, and with the open of the project this number can only grow up. Cymon 16:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wikiversity and Wikibooks are two different projects, so they need two different places to being developed. Otherwise the result it will be what we can see today on Wikibooks, actually the same thing. That's why we're thinking of remaking the structure of our italian Wikiversity, to do that we need the domain :). Thanks for pay attention to the request. LordDiablo 19:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- After a long discussion and after having collected consensus, I think that the Wikiversità has to distinguish from Wikibooks. An embrional but strong community is ready to contribute and to sustaine this effort. --Tooby 11:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wikiversity isn't a book!! The italian university need a place for its. --DaveBlack 18:11, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- We talked a lot about this project, and I strongly think we have now the strenght to create a project different from Wikibooks. Many people showed an interest in it (and I am positive more will come as soon as the project starts). We really need a different place, now that we have gathered more people, or, as already stated, this will prevent Wikiversity to become a project of its own, a project different from the mere copy of Wikibooks it is, in fact, now. --Centrifuga 18:13, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- There is a small but motivated community willing to develop wikiversity as a separate project, proposals as to structure and organisation have already been advanced and discussed, there is large consensus as to let it evolve out of wikibooks and continue on its own. Several experienced users from it:wikipedia and it:wikibooks have pledged their support and many volunteers have recently registered indicating their willingness to contribute to specific areas. - Wikiversity, was a important project for italy, we want separate this projects with it.wikibooks --Elcairo 18:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Books isn't University. Wikiversity wants separate from Wikibooks. --Fede Reghe 17:07, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- In my belief, a Wikiversity should have a different structure from a book. First of all, it is a structured collection of knowledge, not necessarily with the extension and depth of a book. The structure is given by a taxonomy of the faculties/courses, this taxonomy is explicit, and enriched with links to bibliography, online material (including Wikibooks, and Wikipedia entries). By a point of view, a Wikiversity can be a metastructure on Wikibooks. mcoletti 213.230.130.54 17:44, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's a natural evolution of wikipedia, regardless of the language. Wikipedia is user-oriented, this should be, may I say wiki-oriented? Ub unlogged 81.208.31.217 21:03, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- There is already a lot of stuff (and people), and as soon as it is launched a lot of students from the real italian universities will join to participate both as students and as teachers. Giuseppe 23:35, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Any Wikiversity in a science language will be helpful. So, I only can support this request. --Thogo (talk) 23:41, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's already active on Wikibooks. As we have a project for these things, there's no reason to not separate them. --.anaconda 17:47, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
