This proposal has been approved. The Board of Trustees and language committee have deemed that there is sufficient grounds and community to create the new language project. The closing committee member provided the following comment: The requested project was created at fiu-vro: at an indeterminate date. Note that this request was approved before the implementation of the standardised Language proposal policy, and should not be used as a model for future requests. —{admin} Pathoschild 05:15, 21 December 2006 (UTC) |

- It is proposed in wikipedia-l list 3 Feb 2005 that for the first time code for Võro Wikipedia could be fiu-voro because "vro" and "vr" are not official yet. --Võrok 20:09, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Related to Estonian. Ask et to host Voro ? (4 feb 2005)
- Related, but different language with own alphabet, orthography and literary language (see en:Võro language, et:Võru keel). --Võrok 23:07, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Should be apart. et:Andres (5 Feb 2005) Andres 07:45, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- While I don't speak Võro, having a Wikipedia in this language would be a great thing. As with the codes, there was the same problem with the Aromanian Wikipedia at http://roa-rup.wikipedia.org. We proposed the use of
aro
but it wasn't official. I'd sayfiu-vro
would be pretty good, though once it reaches 1000 articles (which it will :) it should be moved to a shorter code, especially if it's proposed. Other than that, good luck with the wiki and steady growth! Ronline 08:40, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)- The Võro language interface file is now ready: LanguageVR.php as a Wiki page LanguageVR.php as a file
- Hopefully, a new policy on codes for languages without official ISO codes is forthcoming. fiu-voro is the current proposal for this language.
- Where can i read something about this "forthcoming" "new policy"? (6 Mar 2005)
- I don't know. On an unelated topic, should the Voro website be something like vo.wikipedia.org? NazismIsntCool
- This is not an unrelated topic, this is the same issue. (7 May 2005)
- For the first time code for Võro Wikipedia could be fiu-voro and therefore the Võro Wiki page itself: fiu-voro.wikipedia.org -Võrok 18:34, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- However, a code with structure ***-*** would be better than ***-****. Therefore I would prefer fiu-vro (like "roa-rup").-Võrok 21:04, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
