Arguments in favour
edit- Support. As a proposer of this request, I hope that this time the committee will agree the creation of Karakalpak Wiki in spite of previous rejections. This time the community has become larger and it will be enlarged more if to move to kaa.wikipedia.org. ---Atabek 06:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

- Strong Support. As being 1st proposer ;) Karakalpak language has about half million native speakers. In region (in Karakalpakstan) Karakalpak is second (in some occasions even first) language for most local Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Turcomans as Turkic peoples and as Russians and Persians with non-Turkic native tongue. Karakalpak is official (state) language in Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan. This is rich writing heritage from 16-17 centuries and nowadays.--AlefZet 12:44, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Strong Support. As being native speaker of Karakalpak language, I can state that it has many distinctive features and there are many poets, writers who wrote remarkable products in Karakalpak language.--Aziz 18:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Of course, this language is completely different to Uzbekian from different group. Strong Support. Mashiah Davidson 14:56, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

- Support. Official language in the Karakalpak Republic. There is an active test project, which I find is a very good indicator that a launched project will be active too. Btw., the language is closest related to Kazakh and Kirghiz (though still quite different from these), but not very closely to Uzbek. --Thogo (talk) 13:21, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Also support. Official language, enough speakers and possible authors. +ACK@Thogo Man77

- Strong support You guys have been working hard for that. That shows many articles in the test project. wp/kaa deserves becoming a wikipedia. --Visconsus 10:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Support. The language is on the edge of disappearance, and it won't be an exaggeration to say, that developing an online encyclopedia is a vital issue for the language and its speakers. It would be regretful if Wikipedia Community doesn't have room to contribute to the preservation of the language with such a long history. GaiJin 16:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Support. Karakalpak language - live language (Total speakers - 412,000). - ~Innvs: 06:45, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Arguments against
editit will be a complete failure This comment was added by 71.142.106.117, cf. [1].
- Why would it be a failure? Please elaborate. --Thogo (talk) 07:57, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
General discussion
editThough I'm in favour of this request I find it strange so many newly created users are placing arguments in favour on this page, though the test project has hardly been touched... --OosWesThoesBes 15:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- They have been working on the localisation .. there are several parts to the story. GerardM 16:05, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
