There has been a lot of efforts during the second half of 20th century to change the persian language alphabet to something more efficient and readable. The main proposals is changing the arabic script to a more simplified system of alphabet. It seems that the latin alphabet is the most appropriate way to make this job. Argument in favour

I am for this. If there is a separate language for Kurdish (Latin) and Kurdish (Arabic alphabet) why should there not be one for Persian?

Arguments against

Apart from the fact, that this is not actually a request for a new language (see below), ~~my impression is, that this is a pretty new, not well-established system. Google:Urofarsi returns very few hits. Haven't examined them, though. --Johannes Rohr 10:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)~~ Now that I know that it is actually called Eurofarsi, things look different. However, since a Farsi Wikipedia already exists, opening a completely new edition, only with a different writing system, seems to be an unnecessary diversion of energy. General discussion

This proposal is somewhat misplaced, because it is not about a new language (I haven't checked, but I'm pretty certain, that a Farsi wikipedia exists) but about a new writing system. I feed, alternative writing systems should be integrated with the existing projects, rather than opening yet another pet project. There are wikis using multiple scripts, e.g. Serbian and Kazakh. --Johannes Rohr 10:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The correct name for the writting system should be either 'latinfarsi' or 'eurofarsi', it is 'e' at the beginning of the word.
