Arguments in favour
edit- Alot of books in the zh-wikibooks, which i think is mainly for mandarin, are written in classical chinese. i simply propose we create this so we can move them here. one does not need knowledge of reading classical chinese because we can just transfer the material to this one大天王皇子 23:30, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
--RubiksMaster110 17:14, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Arguments against
edit- I propose closing this request immediately, since the proposer does not know Classical Chinese. Also, we have Chinese wikisource already.--Itsmine 02:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Only if Itsmine know what is coherence: We have Chinese Wikipedia, therefore we should closing zh-classical Wikipedia. Please use another reason. --Uncyc 02:41, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- As the proposer said, "Alot of books in the zh-wikibooks, which i think is mainly for mandarin, are written in classical chinese." It is false and without any evidence. In reality, most of the Classical Chinese books have been put in the "Chinese Wikisource" (Not wikibooks!). That's what my reason. Thanks for your advice.--Itsmine 02:49, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- i confused the two so shut up. and zh- is mostly for standard mandarin, we do NOT want to place wenyanwen and mandarin books together.
- I think it should be discussed in zh-wikisource first, since you are meaning to separate this project into two.--J.Wong 01:43, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

- I support closing this request immediately too, since the proposer is requesting Wikisource Classical Chinese, but not Wikibooks. -- Kevinhksouth 06:56, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it should be closed immediately, since the proposer is requesting Wikisource Classical Chinese, but not Wikibooks. Orz...forgot to write this--J.Wong 08:00, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think we can stop wasting our time. The proposer does not even understand Chinese, classical or modern, as seen here Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Mandarin.--Msuker 07:23, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- i think you should understand 99% of people on wuu wikipedia speak mandarin and not wuu. it should not be a problem editing wikipedias you have no knowledge off.
- Theres an admin on wuu wikipedia who does not speak a single word of wuu, and hes a beauracrat now. your logic is like that of a 3 year old.
--Budelberger 10:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC) ( ).
- i know hes there for technical support,
- Is deleting templates – because he doesn't understand a sinogram but « 水 » – a « still (…) in fact » « technical support » ?… --Budelberger 22:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC) ( ).
- no need to get pissed off.
- Comme vous dites.
- i said msuker has a 3 year old logic, not hercule. 21:26, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- I was not talking about Msuker. --Budelberger 22:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC) ( ).
- , you don't understand, i was explaining to Msuker on how people can edit on wikipedias in languages that they don't know.
- and are you aware i was one of the people who voted him to bearacrat? 03:53, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- You did it, and you did it well ; we are a What a wonderful World where thanks to you Illiterates and undedeloped Brains can manage a top-level career. --Budelberger 17:31, 25 December 2008 (UTC) ( ).
- yes, support closing this request. and Wikisource Chinese have to include Classical Chinese--Shizhao 07:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- according to your logic, shizhao, we will have to close classical chinese wikipedia because zh-wikipedia can handle classical chinese.
- The open or closure of any project is not decided by one person only. The fact is that Only Wikisource wikis in ancient or historical languages are accepted, so this request could be closed right now. The open or closure of Classical Chinese Wikipedia depends on demands and requests, since Classical Chinese Wikipedia was created before this language policy is imposed. -✉Hello World! 19:07, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

- I agree with Shizhao.Skjackey tse 10:05, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Shizhao too. 11:38, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Please, close this request. There is not one person in the world who can write wikibooks in Classical Chinese. A wikisource is more viable. --Bloodmerchant 19:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- I concur with Bloodmerchant. I don't see this as a feasible proposal due to the fact that no one can write wikibooks in this language.
Other discussion
edit- This article should be moved to: Requests for new languages/Wikisource Classical Chinese. Wikibooks Classical Chinese might be of few contents - only books written by Yan Fu are acceptable, but anyway Yan Fu can't write Wikipedia since he's no longer alive. (Yú Hǎi) 06:28, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
