Discussion on ps.wiki edit

Comments edit

  • This is not a page to request prompt action from stewards. Checkuser is a steward function. Checkuser requests are to be made at Steward requests/Checkuser.
  • However, this request is "fishing." There is no specific claim of sock puppetry here. There are also some issues on ps.wiki from apparent common use of shared computers. That can create issues of collusion, that is, of users who back each other up because they are friends, who know each other in real life, and who share means of access to the project. Checkuser cannot distinguish between these users, all that can be used is the "duck test," which is based on similarity of style and interest.
  • There is already steward attention to the issue, shown by comments and edits of stewards on ps.wiki. What I expect is that all "related accounts" (those using the same internet access and computer) will be identified, and closers of discussions will be advised to look for possible collusion, with voting being considered with that possibility in mind. If high consensus is required for the truly important votes, then some level of collusion will not damage results.
  • It is best if users accessing the project in this way self-identify, either openly or privately to a steward. --Abd (talk) 14:33, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
