Chapter 2.5 - Lack of Transparency
Many of the processes described above were conducted in darkness, and with a lack of transparency towards the editors in Hebrew Wikipedia, in complete contradiction to the principle of transparency that is at the foundation of global Wikipedia's values.
This lack of transparency was manifested in the following aspects:
- The exact reasons for the mass blocking of dozens of editors were not presented, and no evidence was provided to justify these blocks (see this table for details about the 59 blocked users)
- It was not clarified which editors were involved in making decisions regarding the blocks, or in checking the suspicions against editors. Despite repeated questions from editors on this matter, the bureaucrats refused to disclose the identity of those who participated in their "check crew", as one of them called it. The bureaucrats did mention several times that "many editors" were involved in the process, but refused to disclosure further information.
- There is no transparency regarding the criteria for imposing sanctions on editors - the decision if an action will lead to a sanction, and the severity of the sanction, are arbitrarily determined by the admins or bureaucrats.
