I realized that this may sound petty, but I seek resolution on a small matter regarding the use of the 8bit PNG alpha channel. Another user and I, Kaizersoze, have gotten into a minor edit war regarding this image. I am of the opinion that the anti aliased version be used (thus using the more advanced feature of the image format), while my learned colleague believes the older version (without the anti-aliasing) should be used, as Internet Explore 6 for Windows does not support this standard feature. I've looked in the Wikipedia polices, but I see nothing covering this situation. We should not be adapting to an archaic browser that lacks all new web features that have arisen during the past four years. That Internet Explorer doesn't support alpha PNG is none of our concern, and if we keep adapting to IE's feature handling, nothing will be done about it.
