imported to Incubator: incubator:Wb/lv

The result of the following proposal for closing a WMF project is to CLOSE the project. Please, do not modify this page.

The following discussion is closed: Still no activity -- project to be closed per consensus (bug 19368). SPQRobin (inc!) 20:33, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to close this discussion in seven days from now, on May 11VasilievVV 20:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only acitivity at the Latvian wikibooks is the index.php spambot. I have notified the Latvian Wikipedia already. Ahoerstemeier 11:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support closure

  1. Support closure: no content (wikibooks:lv:Special:Allpages) and no useful activity (wikibooks:lv:Special:Recentchanges). I also notice that there's only been one response to the 8 August notice on the Latvian Wikipedia and that was someone concurring that the Wikibooks project was moribund. --A. B. 2. Support Current content looks a lot like that of a regular Wikipedia. Very little activity. Localisation levle of Latvian is low (46%), while a minimal read-only localisation has not yet been reached. I think the community would benifit from a trial run in Incubator. Comment Comment Moving to incubator (and closing existing project) would be too much pain. I would suggest to either to close or freeze and move to wikipedia (with subsequent modifications in wikipedia's inclusion policies). LOcalization level is not that bad, most messages are translated (to find some untranslated interface messages, it actually takes some effort). -Yyy 07:10, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support Support closing. Very little content and no recent activity --Jaro.p 15:59, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose closure

  1. 'Against' closure. You are quickly to close and slow to open. This project side is sleaping. Latvians have wikipedia and about 10000 articles. It's only time. bat-smg:user:zordsdavini 193.219.135.225 10:06, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Comment Maybe it could be set read-only instead of closing? There are long, unexplained delays, when creating new project (for example Requests_for_new_languages#Latgalian_Wikipedia). I expect such delay for recreating lv.wikibooks to be even longer. -Yyy 14:43, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose The project was hard to bump in and, thus virtually unknown of to Latvians, now Yyy apparently has put links to it on Latvian Wikipedia and there are two new books - it should be given some time to acctualy start working --Xil 20:17, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose. There is recent activity, including what looks to me like a recipe being added, and a paragraph or so being added to an already extensive book apparently on chemistry. Coppertwig(talk) 00:50, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose. Holder 08:48, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Oppose. Time, friends, give it time. --Jeffmcneill 23:10, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
