Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Klingon Wiktionary

The result of the following proposal for closing a WMF project is to CLOSE the project. Please, do not modify this page.

The Klingon wiktionary is no langer active and has been moved to wikia. The "this wiki is going to close " message is already on this wiki for several months. Multichill 11:24, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Support closing

  2. Support. There seems to be a slight amount of activity on the recent changes, but it's very trivial. It would be useful, if it were active, but it's been moved to wikia now, so let them maintain it. Justin(u) 23:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support It should be closed. Many of its system messages are not yet translated, low activity, and very few speakers. -- Felipe Aira 12:34, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Support Very little activity on recent changes (presumably few fluent speakers) and given its moving to Wikia, there is no purpose to keeping it alive here. EJF 17:07, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Support: keeping this project open has no sense, when other klingon projects were already closed. Hégésippe | ±Θ± 01:30, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  6. --Thogo (talk) 15:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC) It was probably just forgotten when tlh.wikipedia was closed.[reply]
  7. Support Especially because this project was supposedly locked for closure in the past, it is currently hosted in Wikia, it makes no sense to keep it open. (Besides it's causing some fuss because of a tlh interwiki issue in Wikimedia sites configuration which cause it to be seen as article text) --Malafaya 15:12, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The wiki is removed. Multichill 13:53, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And there is no way to keep the existing information available in Wikimedia? I find quite outrageous that if I want to check the Klingon information that used to be in thl.wikt, it has to be in a ad-studded Wikia place. --Piolinfax (@es.wikt) 12:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, for me it is quite a shame that they did what they did without trying to contact the few registered users there first. --Piolinfax (@es.wikt) 13:08, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There had been a site notice with a closure warning for which one local sysop blocked and insulted Brion Vibber. Since all was published under GFDL wiki or any other site can take the content and publish it GFDL conform again, without notifying the users. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 13:22, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I do not mind their using the info I added (I am aware that is the part of the GFDL) I am against my being there as if I had contributed for that site. I never did. I want them to delete my history there up to the moment they made the transfer. They can recover the information under their own nicks if they like later. Anyway I would like to see the site back here in Wikimedia even though nobody could edit in it (a stupid thing to do, but worse than nothing) because, otherwise, that info now seems as if it had been created for Wikia and therefore all the ones who added information there eventually unknowingly did it for (others') commercial purposes. I honestly do not understand the logical of all this in a place like Wikimedia. --Piolinfax (@es.wikt) 19:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This request should be closed; the tlh.wikt is long gone and problems resolved (e.g. Interwicket has stripped all the tlh interwikis within the wikts in NS:0, etc.). Robert Ullmann 12:20, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
