Proposal for Closing the Gothic Wikipedia

edit

Why do is there even a Gothic wiki. According to Wikipedia, it is an extinct language. Its just a waste. 68.198.111.189 21:08, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Latin is also an extinct language, but has a thriving Wikipedia with over 5,000 articles. While Wikipedias in extinct languages are generally discouraged, they are sometimes created when enough interest and support have been shown. The Gothic Wikipedia currently has 110 articles, ranking it 154th (out of 229)—incidently, this is more than Tahitian, Greenlandic, Xhosa, Khmer (Cambodian), Hawaiian, Tibetan, Navajo, or Kazakh, all of which are very much living languages. To share your opinion on what Wikipedias should and should not be created, I recommend you visit Requests for new languages. The Jade Knight 07:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
