Minutes of the Annual Genereal Meeting of Members on March 20, 2021 - 10:00 am to 12:00 nn Philippine Time

The 2021 annual general meeting was held on the 20th day of March, from 1:52 pm - 8:02 pm (with recess) Philippine Standard Time at Blackscoop Café, Naga City with live updates in Facebook messenger.

Background edit

Earlier in the morning, the president has posted in the Facebook chat room dedicated for the PhilWiki Annual meeting the 2020 annual report for everyone's consumption. He also proposed to move the physical venue from Raul S. Roco Libary to Blackscoop Café, Naga City due to the government suspension of operations of businesses including libraries.[1] Further, he proposed to extend the meeting since the government announcement suspending operations of libraries etc. was not anticipated. There was no objection.

Approval of last year's minutes of annual meeting edit

The president posted last year's minutes of annual meeting for everyone's consumption. He noticed a discrepancy, probably a typo, on Ira Villanueva's votes (2) and he is also listed among the members who got a vote. Vote for Ira was corrected. He then proposed to approve the 2020 annual meeting's minutes. Four other (4) members namely Harold Gomez, Marvin Molin, Cris Fragata and Maffeth Opiana "Liked" the motion. The minutes is approved.

Treasurer's Report edit

Marvin posted a copy of the financial report of the treasurer in the chat room. Without any objection, the report is accepted.

President's Report edit

The president re-posted in the chat room dedicated the 2020 annual report. In addition, he enumerated the activities from January to March:

  • Wikipedia 20 was celebrated last January
  • Wiki Loves Folklore was conducted in February
  • WikiGap campaign is currently being conducted this March

He also mentioned that he was invited to be a resource speaker at Developh's program and at Pagkarahay Art Festival in Minalabac, Camarines Sur representing PhilWiki Community. Regular Board meeting was also conducted.

Election edit

With John Paul Collantes being offline, Marvin volunteered to be the election officer. Six (6) members responded positively: Irvin, Harold, Cris, Maffeth, Ralff and Ira.

The election officer posted the Article of Incorporation and Bylaws in the group chat. Resolution on Member in Good Standing was also posted for reference. Twelve members who are in good standing are the following:

  5. Joseph Ciudadano
  6. Ian Kenneth Orasa

The said members in good stading were advised to send 5 names to the election officer as votes for the position of board members. They were given until 6pm to cast their ballots.

Maffeth announced that she has decided not to run for any position in order to give chance to others but she is always willing to support the group. Two members: Irvin and Ralff, acknowledged the pronouncement.

At 7:48pm, the election officer announce the results:

  • Ralff Nestor Nacor - 9 votes (ELECTED)
  • Cris Gomez - 7 votes (ELECTED)
  • Irvin Sto. Tomas - 7 votes (ELECTED)
  • Leah Banastao - 7 votes (ELECTED)
  • Steven Fung - 7 votes (ELECTED)
  • Marvin Molin - 6 votes
  • Ian Kenneth Orasa - 3 votes
  • Joseph Ciudadano - 3 votes
  • Ramon Olano Jr. - 2 votes
  • Maffeth Opiana - 2 votes
  • Harold Gomez - 1 vote
  • John Paul Collantes - 1 vote

The election officer announced the new set of board members namely: Ralff Nestor Nacor, Cris Gomez, Irvin Sto. Tomas, Leah Banastao, Steven Fung.

The annual meeting of members ended at 8:02 pm.
