editReasons for Participation
editI am active in some of the Wikimedia projects. Mainly i am involved with Bengali Wikipedia, and commons:Wikimedia Commons. I am one of the founding members of the recently established chapter Wikimedia Bangladesh. At the very beginning i am working for this chapter formation. I have conducted workshops on Wikipedia (how to edit, necessity of Wikipedia and ways to get involved) in different universities.
I have checked the program schedule and found that if i can attend a number of sessions (1, 2, 3) then it will be very helpful for me and some cases(like 1,2,3) i want to replicate this idea . Though i have not submitted any presentation but i can contribute on the discussion sessions. And a big number of contributors are form West Bengal, India. i will get the chance to discuss and will to find the solutions about make Bengali Wikipedia more successful.
Wikimedia Bangladesh has established only a few days ago, and by attending this conference i will be able to discuss with the members of other established chapters. I believe that this will help me to make the Wikimedia Bangladesh more successful.
Goal and Expected Impact
editThrough this conference i will be able to introduce Bengali Wikipedia as well as the Wikimedia Bangladesh. I have some prior experiences on conducting workshops and some outreach events in different universities. I can share these with the other participants.
And recently we have formed a chapter in Bangladesh and we had to go through some hard times too. We had faced different type of problems and finally overcome them. As a founding member i can share these among the other groups who are on the way of chapter formation.
