Open Remix: Exploring Knowledge and Cultural Creativity

This is a educational project that empowers school students to remix images sourced from Wikimedia Commons. By creatively repurposing these public domain images, students create useful worksheets and learning resources as part of their regular learning activities.

Objectives

• Promoting Open Culture: The project aligns with Creative Commons’ mission to promote open culture. It encourages students to engage with freely available content and contribute to the commons.

• Creative Remixing: Students learn about copyright, licensing, and the value of remixing. They explore how to transform existing images into new educational materials.

• Collaboration: The project fosters collaboration among students, teachers, and Wikimedia contributors. Participants share their remixes, ideas, and insights.
