This is an article in French created to discussing the creation of a new Wikimedia project.

Introduction

Would it not be interesting to create a database of all the names in the world, and to be able to see the family tree?

The interface and the dynamic aspect is debatable, of course, but the theory that I propose is this: surname + given name + birth date + death date.

It does not have a lot of information to go beyond the Wikimedia driving force (and of course, I don't have a lot of visibility). A search of names will not be able to focus on an article of a specific person, but only on Category:SomeName, which includes a listing of all the first names and dates of birth/death.

Clicking on one of the names opens the whole family tree based around said name. (a single person would have a HUGE tree).

As such, there is no page for the individual, but there could be perhaps a single page for each surname, retracing the history of the name, only showing the names who have articles on Wikipedia.

La parenté des prénoms+date de naissance et décès pourrait être enregistré dans un code à ? caractères qui permet d'identifier chaque prénom pour le lié à son papa et sa maman.

Ce n'est vraiment qu'une idée, puisque j'imagine que le 1er problème sera le stockage d'un trop grand nombre de données. Aussi, il doit y avoir plusieurs Jean MARTIN naît le 6 juin 1948 et pas encore mort, donc un problème de doublon ?

Va pour la discussion de ce projet extravaguent.

Séduisant, gigantesque & intéressant

Les questions se font nombreuses :

• confidentialité et informations anonymes
• qui m'empêche de créer une personne fictive ?
• quel outil de rendu graphique de l'arbre ?
• quel cloisonnement ou niveau d'intégration de mon personnage dans l'arbre géant ? (exemple : je veux que mon personnage ne soit visible que dans ma famille !)
• etc.

Bref, plus que passionnant !
