NYCN Anambra Central Wikipedia Training Report 18/4/2024
Igbo Wikimedians User Group Nigeria hosted a comprehensive training session on April 18, 2024, at 12 Regina Caeli Road, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria, focusing on the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter. Dubbed the "NYCN Youth Wikipedia Training," the program aimed to familiarize youths with Wikipedia's operations, guiding them through account creation and content translation from English to Igbo.
The contest was officially announced as open, scheduled to run for one month, with prizes awarded to the highest contributors at its conclusion.
At the end of the contest, we achieved a huge success: 433 articles were created, surpassing our forecast of 100 articles.

Achukwu Onyinye Jane and Joseph Amogu led the educational efforts, with support from prominent figures like State Chairman Suv Emeka Obi, Programmes Director Nkala Stanley, PRO, and members of the NYCN Anambra State Chapter, bolstering its significance and outreach.
With about 14 attendees, the session effectively engaged youth, providing them with valuable skills in Wikipedia editing, language translation, and digital content creation. The initiative facilitated knowledge exchange and encouraged active involvement within the digital community.
