NDEC Wikimedia Bootcamp 2024

NDEC Wikimedia Bootcamp 2024 is the 2024 edition of the annual Wikimedia Bootcamp of Notre Dame English Club.

Wellwishes for the bootcamp participants from Wikimedians from all over the world!

This two weeks long bootcamp serves as the outreach and recruitment campaign of NDEC Wikipedia Editorial and Research Team - the specialized Wikimedia team of Notre Dame English Club. Participants get familiar with Wikipedia, it’s sister projects and the vibrant global community behind the Wikimedia movement. This bootcamp includes two major parts - series workshops and hands-on activities. We have an Edit Challenge as the hands-on activity this year.

Trust and Safety

edit

Participants in this bootcamp are eleventh-grade students and legal minors. Hence, Notre Dame English Club (NDEC) is prioritizing safety concerns. The Universal Code of Conduct will be enforced throughout the bootcamp, overseen by the NDEC Executive Committee. NDEC will maintain communication with the Wikimedia Foundation Trust and Safety team and local law enforcement to ensure safety. The institutional security authority at Notre Dame College, Dhaka, will be alerted, and NDEC will deploy trained volunteers with identifiable dress code on campus during in-person workshops. NDEC will exchange necessary information, including the history of disruptions during its annual bootcamp, potential safety threats, and a list of individuals and groups that may pose safety concerns, with the local law enforcement authorities and the institutional safety authority as required.

If you're a bootcamp participant and encounter any safety concerns or violations, promptly notify the NDEC Executive Committee via email at ndec_research googlegroups.com or call the numbers provided in your payment confirmation slip.

If you anticipate physical harm, dial the national emergency helpline at 999 or contact your nearest police station using this directory and inform the Wikimedia Foundation Trust and Safety team via emergency wikimedia.org.
