NCPUG Scope

Scope and focuse area of Nigerian Commons Photographers User Group in Wikimedia Projects and its movement.

NCPUG have a clear, defined and very understanding scope, which is to involve, engaged and bring all Wikimedians in Nigeria to excessively contribute to Wikimedia Commons. These involve uploading media files, sound, photos, video, PDF etc. And this User Group makes it very friendly and welcoming to anyone in Nigeria and the outside world, from every wiki and from every community to share the same purpose.

• Photography: It's part of the scope upon this User Group to engage new and exciting editors in carrying out Photographic activities both on-Wiki and off-Wiki, especially photographers or those with passion. Join our NCPUG Phographers Team.
• Sound: It's part of the scope upon this User Group to engage sounds engineers, or editors that are capable of uploading free Nigerian languages audio files into Wikimedia Commons for usage, for rapid and effective growth in achieving 2023 Wikimedia targets, the audios shall be used in Wikis, most importantly Wikitionary and Wikidata. Join our NCPUG Audio Team.
• Video: It's part of the scope upon this User Group to engage users in creating videos, upload existing free videos to Wikimedia Commons that are worth encyclopedic. To also guide users on how to convert videos to WEBM supported format acceptable in Wikimedia Commons.
• Projects: This User Group will also focus in carrying out project grant to boost the activities of Nigerian Commons Photographers User Group in contributing to Wikimedia Commons with Nigerian Images, Videos and Audio files.
• Coordination:

This User Group, will like to coordinate project and program that will move Wikimedia project and community forward in general. This include organizing meet-ups, workshops, trainings, and edit-a-thon. To foster movement and sharing of experience from experience editors to new editors, adding of skills and engaging old and new editors towards Wikimedia movement.

And also, this usergroup will solemly coordinate and work along with Wikimedia community in all aspects within Wikimedia Commons and its angles.

• Recruitment:

This Usergroup, has made it recruitment transparent and accessible to anyone interested. The atmosphere at the User group is friendly and it enables easy access to information within and outside the usergroup.

• Planning:

1. This User Group plans to stay within it defined scope.
2. This User Group plans to carry out projects for the Wikimedia movement in general.
3. This User Group plans to welcome new member and new editors.
4. This User Group plans to organise meets up and meetings.
5. This User Group plans to work hand in hand with other Wikimedia affliate.
6. This User Group has no intention direct or indirect to be in a conflict known or unknown to any Wikimedia affliate.
7. This User Group plans to work hand in hand with other Wikimedia affliate.
8. This User Group plans to share experience and be available to help any other affliate.
9. This User Group plans to work online with the terms and conditions of AFFCOM and Wikimedia Community.
10. This User Group intent to bring new editors and contributors to Wikimedia Community.
