Feedback edit

We, the Wikimedia Libyan Community, would like to provide feedback and share our experience regarding the Movement Charter draft and the onboarding process. As an emerging community primarily consisting of newcomers, we recognize the importance of building a foundational understanding of the Movement Charter and its historical context to ensure informed participation in the ratification process.

In light of this, we have made the following decisions and conducted activities:

1. Postponed In-Person Meeting: Considering the need for our community members to build a solid understanding of the Movement Charter, we have postponed our in-person meeting to May 4th. This will ease the pressure on our community and allow sufficient time for preparation.

2. Onboarding via Voice Notes: We are conducting an onboarding process using "Strategy in a Minute" and "Charter in a Minute" voice notes via the community's group. These brief audio guides provide concise explanations of key concepts related to the Movement Strategy and Charter, aiding our community members in grasping the essentials.

3. Participation in Online Community Calls: We have shared information about online community calls related to the Movement Charter with our community members. Many members attended both meetings on 4th & 26th April. The response has been promising, with many expressing interest in participating actively in the ratification process.

4. Content Covered Online: Our online efforts cover introduction, amendments, and the ratification outlined in the Movement Charter draft.

Moving forward, our upcoming in-person meeting will delve into the roles of volunteers and Wikimedia Movement bodies, providing a comprehensive understanding of organizational structures within the movement.

Questions regarding voting eligibility for emerging communities and the rights and responsibilities outlined in the Charter are crucial considerations.
