Monthly Outstanding Editors Recognition
The Monthly Outstanding Editor Recognition (MOER) is an initiative of ˞Wikimedia UG Nigeria to honor and acknowledge the remarkable efforts of Nigeria volunteer editors who tirelessly dedicate their time and resources to enriching the Wikimedia ecosystem. Every month, the initiative will design a mechanism to identify the highest contributor in each small Wikipedia representing Nigeria's indigenous languages (English inclusive). The initiative will help recognize outstanding contributions, motivate members to remain focused on the core objective of the community and help create bonding among the country's different languages and community members.
Objectives
edit- To identify, celebrate, and reward outstanding Nigerian Wikimedia contributors across various Nigerian indigenous languages every month.
- Foster an engaging environment encouraging regular participation and action among Nigerian Wikimedians.
- Create a strategic approach that will help increase quality content to all our small Wikipedia and inclusive English.
- Encourage editors to contribute quality content
- Provide recognition and motivation for outstanding editors
- Strengthen the Nigerian Wikimedia community

Program Objectives/Scope
editThe program's simple injective is to empower selected cohort of academicians to guide their students to contribute to Wikipedia as an exercise in developing 21st-century skills. And by the end of this program, three selected lecturers from Nigeria will be able to guide their students to contribute academic content to Wikipedia while developing their collaboration and research skills.
