Meta:Requests for adminship/Gribeco

Gribeco (approved) edit
- At least 100 valid contributions on another Wikimedia project: about 20,000 on frwiki (editcount says 60,000, but that includes my open proxy blocking script), a few hundred on enwiki and commons.
- Not yet 100 valid contributions on the Meta-Wiki
- Administrator of another project: fr:User:Gribeco
- Meta userpage: User:Gribeco, with links to other projects.
- Valid contact address: Special:Emailuser/Gribeco, active and validated.
- Have read (and understand) Meta admin policy: Yes.
I'd like temporary adminship on meta to be able to revert/block a persistent vandal active on a few projects (see Vandalism reports/BogaertB) that has been harassing several frwiki sysops (including myself) and has started vandalizing meta. His activity includes posting personal attacks and insults, and vandalizing their pages here. I'll use the opportunity to look at the meta RCs and do some cleanup while I'm at it =) Thanks... --Gribeco 19:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I think you are looking for Requests for permissions. Stewards can grant you access on wikis without active sysops in order to clear up the vandal's mess, but I don't think you need adminship here. There's generally an admin around, and RC is already watched by many. You can do cleanup without sysop tools (or even if you do, it should really be an urgent thing, which is unlikely.) - I'm not sure I understand; this request is specifically for meta, to block IPs on meta. I think we're covered on all the other projects already. I just signed up on #vandalism-meta, so that may be enough to know which admins are around and ping them when necessary.
