Hi, I'd like to request adminship on Meta. I'm a sysop [1] and past Checkuser and Oversighter on enwiki (until I requested to drop the bits [2][3]), sysop on the strategy wiki [4], and OTRS volunteer since 2007, so I have experience with the tools.
I'm involved in rollout work and a regular contributor to bugzilla reported bugs and other WMF development projects (mockups for the usability project, flagged revisions, revision delete, liquid threads). I was heavily involved in the strategy taskforce on the quality team, policy related matters (oversight, privacy, policy development for RevisionDelete and other new tools) and improvement of the Mediawiki interface [5].
Although I've contributed from time to time on Commons, Wiktionary and Wikinews, my main contribution outside enwiki and rollout/development/interface areas is on Meta itself - topical and global wiki-issues, policies and proposals, pages to be written or copy-edited, and so on. It's this which prompted me to request adminship. Meta being a wiki I'm fairly active on from time to time, I sometimes get requests to help users or make edits to the Mediawiki: namespace and other protected pages. The bits would let me help others better than I can right now and to do what's needed rather than ask others to do it for me. Thank you. FT2 (Talk | email) 12:33, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Sorry but I have to oppose on this one, checking your recent contributions I don't see the need for a sysop bit here. You have been active here on a few Request for Comments or other things that involves en@wiki there are no edits that shows that you do / did basic meta maintenance. And I don't think 54 edits this year doesn't pass the Be an active contributor on Meta. This is a subjective, not an objective, measure and there is no official post count. And this request is your first edit in 15 days, so no I don't see the need for tools for you. Huib talk Abigor 12:42, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Yes - that just is not anywhere near active enough to require sysop rights for me. I don't see anything that suggests any actual need for the rights I'm afraid. --Herby talk thyme 12:49, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Withdrawing - evidently the activity criterion is not met, and I accept that. FT2 (Talk | email) 12:58, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Candidate withdrew. --dferg ☎ talk 15:43, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
