Users given temporary adminship per Daniel. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 07:38, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Philippe, iAlex, Dvortygirl
editI request that the following users be given temporary adminship for the purposes of their membership on the 2009 Board Elections Committee:
- Philippe (talk · contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
- iAlex (talk · contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
- Dvortygirl (talk · contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
As a historical reference, please see this request for last years' Committee. The temporary adminships will be restricted for use in ways related to the administering of the 2009 Board elections, and can/will expire on 1 September 2009.
As a bureaucrat I could have done this myself, but I feel it's better to maintain a sense of distance from using my rights in such a way, and I respectfully request that another Meta-Wiki bureaucrat process this request.
Regards,

- There is no need to hold adminship for six months, for an election that takes place in what, two weeks? The last one ended in June - assuming this one will follow similar dates, there is no need for people to hang on to extra rights for such a long period after. I'd prefer the rights were set until a month after the election is due to end. Not three months. Majorly talk 00:41, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Erm, the election has provisionally be penciled in to be held in either late July or early August. By the time it's finalised it will be close to Wikimania, which is being held in the last week of August. The adminship is needed up until that point. Daniel (talk) 00:42, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- If it's going to be that late, then September sounds reasonable. I merely assumed that the dates would be the same. I have set the rights on the users. Best wishes, Majorly talk 00:44, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks :) I suspect the rights may be removed per request as soon as they're not needed anyways, but 1 September was just a ball-park figure to make sure they weren't removed before it finished. Regards, Daniel (talk) 00:46, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
