Media Workshop Botswana 2024
This is the workshop meant to bring together different media houses in Botswana to sensitise them about the existence of Wikimedia Community User Group Botswana . The workshop was held on the 16th of April 2024 at the University of Botswana Block 247/ Lab 293. The mandate of the workshop was to advertise the community and shed light to the media houses about who we are, what we do and how we can be found.

The media workshop was not very successful due to a low turnup of media houses. Only 1 person from 1 media house turned up.
Feedback edit
Reasons for a low turn up edit
- Wrong choice of the day. the feedback we got was that Media people turns to be busy on weekends covering different events, so they prioritise on which events to attend
- We are not yet known hence it made it very difficult for the media houses to consider our invitation
- For us to penetrate the media industry we need to pay for our events to be covered or do paid adverts
