How do you edit the Navigation sidebar?

Good question, I would ask the same.
I found in the file Defaultsettings.php an array containing the links of the navigationbar. But I get errors and no links when I change them :-/
I found the article on Quickbar Customization had all the required information - in the case of the wiki I'm working on, Section 2.
