Inauguration of SSFOSS Club & Workshop on Book Digitalization

Dr. Binumole P Kuriakose (Principal In charge) inaugurating SSFOSS Club

The Sir Syed Free Open Source Software (SSFOSS) Club was officially inaugurated on November 22, 2024, jointly organized by the Department of Forestry and the Forestry Association. A workshop on Book Digitalization, led by Mr. Manoj Karingamadathil (Administrator, Malayalam Wikisource), was also held as part of this event. The program took place at 2:00 pm in the College IT Lab.

Mr. Abdul Basith KKP (Faculty, Department of Forestry) commenced the program with a welcome speech, followed by a presidential address by Ms. Sneha C. (HOD, Department of Forestry). Dr. Binu Mole P.Kuriakose (Faculty, Dept.of Physics) officially inaugurated the program and launched the SSFOSS Club logo. Dr. Tajo Abraham (IQAC Coordinator) offered felicitations, and the inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Jahana Izzath CK (Forestry Association Secretary).

The inaugural session was followed by the Workshop on 'Book Digitization.' Students from various departments participated and gained knowledge about Open source software and got hands-on training on Wiki editing.
