Wiki Women Edit-a-thon 2021 is an online Edit-a-thon competition organized on Maithili Wikipedia on the occasion of International Women's Day 2021. The competition was organized from March 7, 2021 to March 21, 2021. The main aim of the competition is to create articles about notable women on Maithili Wikipedia as well as to address the content gaps. Maithili Wikimedians is organizing Women Edit-a-thon annually since 2015 to create locally relevant and high-quality content about notable Women's in Maithili Wikipedia.
Theme of this year contest
This year we have prepared a list of 50 notable Nepalese women, whose articles do not exist in Maithili Wikipedia. The list is made with the help of Wikidata query services. We have chosen notable Nepalese women from different backgrounds, which include sports, politics, social service, business, economy, arts, music, and the entertainment industry.
