What problem does this solve?Edit

When you create a tool or holding a contest or event, it is important to understand how this affected the contribution made to the project. It is also important to be able to check the edits themselves to understand that they are correct.

What is the solution?Edit

MediaWiki has a powerful system for setting tags for edits. If you use a gadget or script, you can install them using the API. If you conduct an event, you can ask participants to add a word to their edits and create an update filter that will track it and assign the tags to the edit. This approach can be much more convenient than compiling lists. Especially when it comes to thousands and tens of thousands of edits.

In order to start using the tag, you need to create it first. To do this, you need someone who has the rights to do so. For example, you can ask administrators to do this.
