In a significant and valuable step to enhance the visual identity of the Iranian Wikimedians User Group, we have decided to update our logo. This change is not only for a visual refresh but also to strengthen our connection with Iran's cultural and historical heritage. Given the importance of symbols in conveying the concepts and values of any organization, the redesigned logo allows us to showcase our link to Iran's rich history and culture while maintaining alignment with the shared visual identity of Wikimedia.

Why?

The logo is a key element of any group's visual identity and must be accurately and uniquely aligned with the group's values and goals. Since our visual identity is closely aligned with Wikimedia’s, we needed to incorporate a symbol that is unique and relevant to Iran's history and culture into our logo. This change allows us to consistently maintain our connection with this rich cultural heritage while staying aligned with Wikimedia’s shared visual identity.

How?

In the process of designing the new logo, we aimed to incorporate symbols from Iran's historical heritage. Our final choice leaned towards a simplified design inspired by the Derafsh Kaviani, one of Iran's important and historical symbols. This emblem, which evokes the historical struggles and heroic efforts for freedom, effectively represents the values and goals of our group.

In the design and arrangement of elements, we always kept in mind the Wikimedia guidelines to maintain visual coherence and a meaningful connection between our visual identity and Wikimedia’s. This change not only reflects our cultural authenticity but also strengthens the group's identity in the minds of users.

We hope that this new logo will more effectively reflect our group's message and goals and bring satisfaction to all members and users of the Iranian Wikimedians User Group. The logo change is not just a simple redesign for us; it represents a significant step towards strengthening and sustaining our cultural and visual identity, which remains at the heart of our activities and objectives.
