editThe wikipedia entries and other Wikimedia projects are very useful for understanding the world around us, but they were written in a certain historical moment, and then change over time so as to be fully updated as new discoveries and events. Every time the entry is modified or rewritten it generates a new or entirely different and deeper perception of the argument. It would therefore be very useful and intellectually stimulating to have in any item or resource page, a timeline with a slider that allows to:
-Navigate quickly over the years seeing when and how the perception of the subject is changed, for example, how and when you changed the perception of a city, a nation, a public figure, a technology and nature.
-See what happened in the meantime and make assumptions of correlation: parallel to the timeline would be great to see the events that have happened historically before or after editing the entry to evaluate the effect of such events on the perception of things. These events could be filtered by historical, geographical or thematic relevance, relational distance between the link included in the items, semantic correlation with topics of particular interest for the logged user (per session or for "research project), or cloud semantics: defining semantically related arguments to the analyzed wiki item in order to automatically generate the graphs according to the degree of relevance.
