Discussing about each other contributions can be perceived as a personal attack when the wrong words/tone is used.

In user interactions (talk discussions, edit summaries, etc.) it could be helpful to have:
- General predefined responses you can quickly add. For example, a "citation needed" action could add a polite message explaining that the user provided no evidence for their claim (with links to the information that explains why this is important). This saves users time, reduces the chances of the user to manually craft a message that could be interpreted more personally as "you are a liar" instead, and presents the messaging as a tool that is part of the system.
- Respectful alternatives to unpolite messages. As soon as the user is typing something that can be considered unpolite, a better alternative is provided. For example, if the user is about to reply "you are a liar", a suggestion could be shown to suggest "Did you mean? Please, can you provide some evidence of your claim?"
