Question about your budget

edit

Hello, Kelvinsong! Thanks for this request, and for your work creating illustrations! Before reviewing this request with the committee I have a question about your budget. You indicate in your budget, "Accommodation: USD 80 per night × 2 nights = USD 395.50", but it seems like USD 80 per night for two nights would be USD 160. Can you clarify? Thanks! @User:Wolliff Sorry, that was a typo! 75% of the per diem rate from the state department is $195.75—Kelvinsong (talk) 23:10, 11 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the revisions, Kelvinsong! We're excited about your work.
The maximum lodging rate listed for Toronto on the state department website is 166, and 75% of that would be 124.50. (You may have been looking at the per diem rate for meals and incidentals together, which is a different rate.) We also found from a quick search that average hotel rates are close to this amount, at about 130. We'd ask you to reduce the hotel budget accordingly to something in that range, and then we'd be ready to approve the request. Before approving, however, it would also be good to have more clarity on what expenses LGM is able to cover, if that information is available. Thanks again! @User:Wolliff Does that mean WMF will not be reimbursing for meals? && LGM does not pay until after the event, && it's unclear how much they can cover yet. I'm asking for the full amount from the Foundation; if LGM can pay I’ll refund it the difference.—Kelvinsong (talk) 13:11, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hello, Kelvinsong. Yes, we can provide a per diem for meals if you need it, but it should be budgeted separately from your accommodation. Let us know the amount you need for meals and hotel separately. Thanks for the clarity around the situation with LGM. @User:Wolliff Okay I separated the two—Kelvinsong (talk) 00:12, 21 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
