Comments from WMF edit

Hello MayaIwata, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant proposal. We have reviewed your proposal and have the following follow up questions and comments:

  • Can you explain more about the project scope and objective. What are the tangible outcomes and impact you are hoping to achieve from this project?
  • Do you have experienced editors to provide the training support for these events? If yes, please update their usernames on the proposal page.
  • Currently, we are not able to fund the Honorariums and Tech support in the Rapid grants program. Please update your proposal budget to update that. Additionally, can you provide more information about the project management tool expenses you mention in the budget.

Looking forward to your response. Best regards.RSharma (WMF) (talk) 13:30, 10 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dear MayaIwata, this is a follow up for your response to our comments and queries related to your application. Dear Rupika Sharma and the Rapid Response Team,

Thank you for your feedback. We will remove the budget lines that you specified are disallowed. As a feminist organization, we like to give honorariums to trainers to value the work of women who are often engaged in unpaid labor. Given this limitation, we will engage approved trainers from our organizational partner, Whose Knowledge, and can supply the trainers user id's in the New Year.

Financial reporting if funded: If we were to be funded, do we need to submit invoices for our report? What financial documents are required?

As we are no longer able to have funding for tech support for the videos, we would like to increase our budget for graphics and communications to support the work to engage as many of our Digital Ambassadors as possible.

Our project management support are cloud-supported project management tools for our global team such as Confluence and Airtable which will support the production and dissemination of information and engagement for the training.

  • Please note that World Pulse as an organization is also leaning into disability inclusion and would normally add a percentage for disability inclusion* We have a number of Digital Ambassadors, as well as the communities they provide training to, who are sight or hearing impaired. If it is possible for us to budget for inclusion that would be very helpful.
Hello MayaIwata, thank you for getting back to us with your response. Please update the new budget directly in the proposal page under the resources section. Can you explain more about expenses you are expecting under disability inclusion budget. Under financial report, the grantees are expected to submit the invoices along with description of expenses. You can read more about the financial reporting on this page. It is absololutely fine if you wish to provide the information about the trainers in the next calender year, please reach out when you are able to finalize. In the application, you have mentioned Wikipedia training. Can you also provide information about the language edition/Wikimedia project this training be for? Looking forward to your responses.
