Hi Kill joyarchivist and Colleagues at the Archives, National Institute of Design, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We appreciate your efforts to run a series of events with a goal to improve articles on Indian woman designers. I have reviewed your application and have some questions that I’d like you to respond to:

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) Thank you for the comments, this is our very first time doing this

  • Could you please confirm that your organization is a registered nonprofit in India?

Yes, it is a design institution and it falls under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Government of India. I can email you files/documents, supplementing this as soon as I can

• The Risk Assessment tool you completed is not accessible to the public. Could you please change the sharing options so that it is accessible to me and others?

Yes, it is done

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wikis (Hindi and Gujarati Wikipedias)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

I will look into this and provide links for the same ; we have assured support from the regional ambassador who is also helping us with announcing this project.

  • From your application it is unclear to me whether you have any experienced Wikimedians. We need to make sure that you have experienced Wikimedians who will support you during your events. You mentioned that you would work with a regional ambassador. Is she/he an experienced Wikimedian? If so, could you please include her/his Wikimedia username in the proposal? Alternatively, if you currently do not have any experienced Wikimedians, you can seek support when posting the community notifications.

We don't have experienced Wikimedians yet, but Medhavigandhi is working on that and we have assured support from them. Thank you for pointing this out, I will seek support while posting further

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:16, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Extension request

edit

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) We would like to request to push the grant deadline to 1 January 2022, given the grim COVID - 19 situation in India. We'd hopefully be able to resume the events are left to do once the second wave flattens. Kill joyarchivist (talk) 13:16, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Kill joyarchivist, your request is formally approved. The new grant end date is 1 January 2022 and the final report is due on 1 February 2022. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:46, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Further extension request

edit

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) We would like to request for another extension, as there have been rapid changes in the schedules of the institution. Also, noting Ahmedabad's/India's rising COVID - 19 cases and closure of the institute for students, we would like to propose 15 November 2022 as grant end date. Best, Kill joyarchivist

Hello Kill joyarchivist, thanks for posting your request. I have reviewed and formally approved it. The new grant end date is 15 November 2022, and the final report is due on 15 December 2022. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:58, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) Thank you once again, for your help and support. Best, Kill joyarchivist

Changes in allocation of funds

edit

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), I'd like to ask if we could spend around INR 35k to 40k towards travel domestic travel of 3-4 persons working with and around GLAMs, including one senior Wikimedian, to our venue. We are planning to have a week-long edit-a-thon at the NID Archives in mid-August as a conclusion to our Archives Summer Lab, an internship program for NID students.
