This project is well aligned with the research path taken to advance the hubs conversation, in surfacing the needs of communities involved, through an assessment process. Commendation to the team for putting together a good mix of quantitative and qualitative research approaches, which will engage people with different backgrounds and commitments, thereby creating opportunities for their continuous engagement. It is also good to see that that project team plans to engage the services of an external consultant, expect that this will increase the quality of the research, and re-usability for other regions. Provide more details on project description, rationale and overall details

• Consider breaking down each phase of the project in more detail. The project team will do well to provide details regarding the objectives and expected outcomes for each phase. A few questions to keep in mind for this include (but not limited to)
  • Phase 1 - 3 - For each phase; why is that target audience selected? Why is the identified research method selected? What key questions will the team be looking to answer and why? How many people does the research intend to cover? At the end of each research phase what is the project team expecting to learn, and how would success be defined?
  • Phase 3 - how does the team envision this phase happening? how will the reports be compiled and disseminated? Which audiences does the project team plan to engage with the research findings - how and why?
• The project team highlights constraints to effective engagement with communities. Is the team taking into considering the impact of this project on the West Africa region, and if so, how does the project team intend to mitigate the foreseen challenges? Please consider providing a detailed communities' communication plan especially around the findings of the research.
• In relation to providing more details, the project team should also consider providing clarity on the statement of work for the consultant to be engaged.

More clarity on budget allocations

• The project team needs to provide a more detailed breakdown of the budget and allocations. For example, how many hours is the consultant expected to be hired for, and at what rates? Please provide the same level of detail for each team member assigned on the project.
