Hi Jadnapac, thank you for submitting this final report for the Wiki Loves Africa contest in Africa. We're excited about the outcomes of your project. Thank you for uploading these wonderful photos from Tanzania to Wikimedia Commons! I'm accepting this final report with the following questions:

  • Could you please link the winning images in the report page?
  • You mentioned that participants had some challenges to follow the contest's main theme. In fact, I can see it too that some of the images are not related to Healthy and Wellness theme. What would you do differently so that participants are more aware of the topic?
  • Additionally, I can see that there are lots of portraits and personal photos. Did the contest participants consider the personality rights of the identifiable people they photographed?
  • Once again, I'm really glad to hear about your plans to transition to the annual plan grants.

Thanks again for all the work you've done for the Movement. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:52, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

In my opinion, this challenge some how caused by lack of directions on the contests announcement banners that are placed on the specific Wiki projects (eg. on Swahili Wikipedia) because the announcement is being seen by many people, but there is no information linking these viewers of the announcement to the local organizers for further instructions, hence you will find that some of the participants aren't from my User group hence they lack some instructions on how to participate in a specific contest. To Solve this: I will talk to WLA international organizers to suggest the addition of brief info/phrase on the banner that will link the participants to our meta page/local organizers' point of contact.Jadnapac (talk) 13:02, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I hope those who participated in our Wikimedia Commons Training must have followed the personality rights of the identifiable people as it was one of the things we talked about, I am not so sure for those who did participate without attending our Training, the solution in the Second question might help as in future we will urge participants to attend our training before participating to the project.Jadnapac (talk) 13:02, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
