Hello Lomoraronald, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund request. Here are a few questions and requests that I have after reviewing the grant request:

  • Please provide a detailed background of the proposed budget in the Resources section.
  • How do you plan to track the participants' contributions? Please consider using the Outreach Dashboard to track the contributions of the participants. You can also use the Training section of the Outreach Dashboard to learn more about how to plan and carry out edit-a-thons.
  • Do you have any list of articles you plan to edit?
  • Are you coordinating these activities with other Wikimedians in South Sudan? How?
  • Dear User:Sandra_Aceng would you please confirm your support during this project?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:48, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear DSaroyan, this is to confirm my support to Lomoraronald on behalf of the Wikimedia South Sudan during the Wiki For Human Rights editathon happening in April and May, 2022. I have also worked with Lomoraronald to organise Wiki For Refugees in Uganda. He has also participated in WikiGap Uganda editathon from 2020 to 2021. Hi Lomoraronald, thanks for your response. I have two additional comments:
  • I'm sorry for the typo in my first request. I meant "could you please share a detailed breakdown of your budget"? We request that you share a table or list for the proposed expenses. Does it make sense now?
  • If you could share your team's usernames in the application form, it would be great.
Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:41, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Lomoraronald, thank you! For the budget breakdown, I request that you provide the information in a more detailed manner. For example:
  • Space/Venue - unit price (X USD) * number of events (X events) = 500 USD
  • Internet (for participants/organizers during or after the events?) - unit price (X USD) * number of participants or package (X participants, X events etc.) = 500 USD
  • Local Transportation 300 USD - for whom? what's the unit price?
  • Snacks/Lunch/Refreshments 700USD: how many times do you plan to offer snacks, lunch, and refreshments, what is the unit price for each of them?
  • I also wanted to understand how your budget is aligned with the local prices in Juba because they seem higher from what we have funded in the past for other communities. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:02, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
oh sure, here is a further breakdown of the budget
1. Space (250 usd per day of use(Includes space, power - Scenius Hub space)for 20 people) - (2 days x 250= 500 USD)
2. Local transportaion (For Participants from their homes to the space of the training- 15USD per person - (20 participants x 15=300USD)
3. Snacks and feeding (sinces its a whole 2 day program ) each day is 350 (17.5usd per person x 20 = 350 per day and 700 for 2 days
The budget is better to be in USD since the local currency changes almost per day- now it stands at 4000ssp for 1USD
but it can change anytime hence the local people loving the use of USD to SSP cause of the fluactions Lomoraronald (talk) 12:49, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
