Comments from WMF edit

Hello JulioGaitan and ISUR Colleagues, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. It’s great to see that you are planning to create a video tutorial for the Wayuu people which will hopefully guide them to edit on the Wikimedia projects. I have reviewed your proposal and have the following questions and comments:

  • In the probox, could you please add the details of your organization? Particularly, please add organization contacts, first and secondary grantee contacts, organization nonprofit status, and email addresses. Additionally, please change the grant type to “organization” since this grant will be credited to ISUR.
  • What will be the language of the planned tutorial video? Could you link the Wikiaku’aipa Wikipedia in the proposal page?
  • What specific topics will be addressed in your tutorial video? Could you provide more details?
  • Are you planning to share the video under licenses compatible with Wikimedia projects? Once created, will you be uploading it to Wikimedia Commons?
  • Is the request for video creation coming from the Wayuu community? Have you talked to them before submitting this proposal?
  • Who will create or improve 6 Wikipedia articles mentioned as a target? What is the connection between article editing and your video?
  • Could you please provide a more detailed budget breakdown for this project? Please add the number of units and prices for each line.

Looking forward to your responses. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:10, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Answers to the questions edit

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thank you very much for your answer, we will now answer your questions.

  • Yes, the proposal comes from conversations and the continuation of the project with Wayuu village leaders. They are teachers and we have found that it is necessary to produce audio-visual material so that more Wayuu people have access to the material, use the content and participate in the projects.
  • The articles will be created and improved by the active editors in cooperation and integration exercises with more members of the community. The aim is to integrate more people as editors and users of the project in the educational field.

Additional comments from WMF edit

Hello JulioGaitan, thanks for responding to my questions. I have additional questions and comments, please address them as well.

  • Please add your organization's nonprofit status to the probox.
  • Please remove the "Management of the University project" expense from your budget. There are only limited cases when we allow compensation for people's time and this list does not include compensation for management.
  • After removing the management expenses, please update your budget and paste it into the Resources section.
  • Do you have experienced and active editors who will be supporting you when creating the videos? Could you please add their usernames to the proposal page? Please note that we need to see experienced editors supporting your project, in order to proceed with this grant request.
