Hi Sandeep Raut, thanks for submitting this proposal. I have reviewed it and have a few questions and requests:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wiki(s)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Could you please provide more details about the produced videos: how many videos do you plan to produce, what are the topics, video length and other details?
  • Who will be compensated for the video production? Please add their names or usernames to the proposal page.
  • Please also add the number of hours for each task and the compensation rate.
  • Have you considered using the available video tutorials and translating them into Nepali instead of creating new tutorials from scratch?

Looking forward to your response. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:30, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thanks for reviewing this proposal. Below mentioned are the clarifications to the questions raised:
  • Noted. I’ve updated the proposal page, and I've announced this project on Nepali Wikipedia village pump.
  • Yes, sure. We have planned to produce four videos as mentioned in the proposal page. The topics that will be included are: how to open an account, write the first article, use sandbox, move from sandbox to an article page, how to put images to an article, how to upload images in Commons and basics of Wikidata and so on. The videos will not be more than 3 minutes in length because we believe today's millennials want to learn everything quickly and in longer length videos they lose interest which may compromise our goals. Also, all the videos will be published under free license.
  • Well, last time in Wiki for COVID-19 campaign we had Rupesh Lekhak as our video editor. He has his own team who help with audio, animation, music and such. He did more than just editing for us, as he endured with our frequent amendments, working for us beyond time alloted despite his other commitments, suggestions on how videos could be more creative and user friendly. We will have him as video editor for this project as well.
  • The number of hours estimated is 8 hours/week which will be in total 64 hours that includes video editing, cutting, audio management, adding music, animation and such. The compensation rate per hour will be $14.
  • Well, we initially thought of simply translating the available videos into Nepali language but digging deep, we came to a conclusion to create new videos from scratch with effective animations in updated wiki user interface so that there would be a proper sync among concept, goals and interface.

Thank you for reading the responses. In case you still have any questions, please feel free to contact me in email or here in the discussion page itself. Regards, Sandeep Raut (talk) 17:13, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
