editHello Nnadigoodluck, thanks for submitting this grant application. We have reviewed it and have a few questions and requests:
- Who will be the jury members? Please note that grantees who are serving as judges may not receive gifts through grant funding.
- Given the project scope, we will only offer 300 USD for prizes. Please reduce the prize budget. Also, please reduce the 'dispatching of prizes' costs if needed.
- Do you think offering expensive equipment as prizes help volunteers to continue editing after the event? How will you make sure that some participants continue editing after the contest? How will you follow up with them?
- From your past experience, how do Facebook and Nairaland ads help to engage and retain editors?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:43, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thanks for your questions and requests, I'm glad to inform you that I've addressed the issues raised accordingly.
- Danidamiobi and Oby Ezeilo will be the jury members.
- The prizes has been reduced to below 300 USD and the cost for dispatching of prizes has been reduced to 200 USD. Accordingly, I've also reduced the price budget.
- The prizes offered to best participants are simply as motivation during the contest. I've been in contact with the participants about the need to continue editing even after the contest, listening to their challenges and answering their questions and I plan to continue engaging them. The participants have also been advised to join other Wikimedia contests and edit-a-thons near them to sharpen their skills in order to keep editing and improving Wikimedia project pages.
- As I noted in the past, Nairaland is the biggest and the most popular Nigerian internet forum in Nigeria and coupled with Facebook, another popular social media website in Nigeria, many Nigerians who didn't know they could edit Wikipedia were successfully recruited and that's why I always use the medium for continued promotion. I've always engaged through Nairaland email feature and Facebook messenger feature for those who indicated interest in joining the contest, before, during and after the contest. Thanks. —Nnadigoodluck███ 13:09, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
