Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Nilamkarn/Women Awareness Campaign

Comments from WMF edit

Hello Nilamkarn, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request and for all your efforts in promoting Wikipedia among Nepalese women. I’ve reviewed this grant proposal and have a few questions and requests:

  • You mentioned that you would announce this project on the village pump of Nepali Wikipedia. However, we now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the Wikimedia community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wikis (Nepali Wikipedia)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Budget:
    • Souvenirs (Wikimedia branded cups & plates) - how many souvenirs do you plan to offer and to whom?
    • Communication expenses + Internet data - for how many participants will you cover the internet data expenses?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:26, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you DSaroyan (WMF) for reviewing the grant proposal:
  • I am mostly active on Maithili Wikipedia, so I have announced the community feedback at Maithili Wikipedia Village Pump. As you know, We will be promoting Wikipedia among female students, workers and aware them about benefit of Wikipedia and its sister projects to their academic and social life. We are expecting to grow readers to respected language Wikipedia of Nepal and recruit some female editors to respected projects.
  • The number is yet to finalize but we are expecting to offer the souvenirs to members of 'Baal Sanjaal', 'Mahila Sahitya Parishad' and 'Saptari Saamudayik Vikas Kendra' (These are all non-profit groups of women and is based in Rajbiraj, Saptari).
  • Communication expenses for organizing team and internet data is for the orientation session and during the Meetups. Thanks--Nilamkarn (talk) 14:42, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
