Hello Musaddam Idriss, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund application. In order to understand the project needs better, I have a few questions for you to address:

  • You mentioned that the "majority of Bauchi related articles have no pictures", however you gave only a few examples of the articles you plan to illustrate. Please provide a more detailed list of articles and objects you plan to photograph.
  • You may need to have permission to take photos of some objects mentioned in the application. How are you going to address this challenge?
  • You also mentioned that you would create articles for those buildings and objects that are missing on Wikipedia. What are these articles?
  • Are you from Bauchi state? Are you well aware of the ethnic groups living in this state?
  • What other awareness activities do you plan to carry out in terms of this project?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:57, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

  1. River Misau
  2. River Jama'are

  6. Jama'are Emirate

  10. Sayawa People
  11. Geji People
The aim is to provide them with photos to make them look like these two articles (as examples)

Please note that I will not just improve the articles by only uploading relevant photos to them, I will also improve their textual contents as well as most them are too short with very little texts.
Therefore, as seen from the above list, the objects I plan to photograph in this project include places, rock formations, caves, traditional emirates’ palace gates, rivers, dams, lakes, ethnic groups, monuments, cultural festivals, traditional foods, government buildings, ancient city walls, springs, tourist attractions, rock paintings, mountains, tertiary institutions, artefacts etc found in the area of Bauchi State or stored/kept in the state’s museum.
For The Question 2
  1. Before I applied for this grant, I have the opportunity of writing a letter to the Executive Director, Ministry of Culture and Tourism telling him about Wikimedia, its goals and activities and also seek for his consent that if my grant application for this project is accepted then I would like to have his support/permission to visit their ministry, particularly the state museum and be allowed to take pictures of the artefacts kept inside.
  2. I also called the Director SSS (being familiarize with him so much) and inform him about the nature of the activity and how it will be embark. I will also write it to his office officially if the grant application is funded.
  3. As part of my plan to achieve stable and peaceful tours throughout the project, I also have it in mind that I will use the money in item 9 of the grant application to report to all other security agencies.

Not only that, since I will be uploading the images to Wikimedia Commons and adding them to the existing/newly created articles, I will be sharing them in all the social media platform groups I’m using (such as WhatsApp, Telegram etc), that way it will help spread the uploaded work faster reaching out to many people at a short period of time.
Thank you for all the questions and I will be available to explain more, anything that is needed or have another set of questions.
Sincerely,
