Follow-up questions

edit

Hello @Maffeth.opiana,

Here are some further questions. Would you be able to share in more detail so that the community can also learn from your experience?

  • What were the results you are most excited about?
  • What has been surprising or unexpected as a result of your work?
  • What would you think is the greatest impact of your work and how would you like to see it moving forward?
  • Is there anything else you would like to share about your main challenges?
  • How important were the partnerships you developed?
  • How do you hope to grow as a group/ organization?

Thank you.

Hi Jacqueline,
Thanks for reviewing my report. Here are my learnings:
  • The most exciting part in conducting the project was the various outreach activities we had which involved different individuals: 13 co-teachers who learned about what we do in the Movement during our teacher-initiated road trip in the 4th district of Camarines Sur; 2 tourism officers at Department of Tourism regional office in Legazpi City and San Pascual, Masbate who made our photo walk in Masbate safe and successful; a schools superintendent and 12 teachers who heard about our photography contest and learned about the free resources in Wikimedia Commons which they can utilize in their lessons; 13 photographers who conducted our first outreach activity in Cebu; 5 Wikimedians who participated in the uploading session and 6 Wikimedians joined in the adding images to articles activity.
  • Having an international winner this year is one surprising result of the project courtesy of user:Jsinglador who won 4th Place in the international round!
  • Involving photographers in Cebu led by a regular participant of WLE PH and other Wiki Loves contests was one of the greatest impact of this year's project. We were able to reach more people through offline outreach activities. Another great result of this project is its continuity which now in its 5th year. I shared about our experience in conducting the project and its results during the 2022 ESEAP Conference in Sydney.
  • One of our main challenges remains getting endorsement and partnership from a national agency, such as Department of Tourism national office to reach more participants.
  • Keeping the partnership and cooperation with local photographers need to be sustained and not only seasonally. So we have created a communication channel for local Commons contributors. We also continue our collaborations with international Wikimedians, local and global affiliates, who are essential partners not only in conducting WLE PH but also in the exchange of learnings.
  • Through the involvement of team members in conducting the project, my hope is to develop and guide them becoming project leaders someday for the growth and sustainability of this project. Among other things I envision in the future include having a conference as well building a community of photographers and photography enthusiasts in the country.
Thanks again for the guidance.
